The beautiful Catalan region of Pallars Sobirà is an indisputably magnificent destination for fans or lovers of snow sports, as it has unbeatable conditions in which to slide or explore the snow. There are four ski resorts where you can come to enjoy your favorite sport during the winter months.
The first of these is the Espot Esquí station, one of the most beautiful alpine ski resorts that are located within the Catalan Pyrenees. It is notable for its high ecological value, as it is located within the idyllic Aigüestortes and Sant Maurici Lake National Park. The tracks of this station end at the nerve center of the station, so it is very difficult to get lost among the various valleys as it happens in other stations. It has 22 slopes with more than 22 kilometers, 6 chair lifts, 2 conveyor belts and 1 ski lift. As additional services, it has a restaurant, the possibility of renting equipment and a ski school.
The second alternative you will find is the Port Ainé station, which is conveniently located near the Aigüestortes National Park. It is a relatively young alpine ski resort, since it was created in 1986, and in turn the largest sports center that you can enjoy in all of Europe. It keeps the snow in perfect condition throughout the ski season, so sliding down its snowflakes will be very easy. It has 22 ski slopes with a total of 32 kilometres, 3 chair lifts, 3 drag lifts and 2 conveyor belts.
If none of the above options convinces you, you can opt for the surprising and charming Tavascan – Pleta del Prat station. This high mountain station, surrounded by an area of surprising natural beauty, is located about 10 kilometers from the town of Tavascan, with the peaks of Ventolau, Certescans and Mont-Roig as the main stars of the scene. It offers 6 slopes with a total of 5 kilometres, suitable for alpine skiing and cross-country skiing, 1 ski lift, 1 chair lift and 1 conveyor belt. An ideal station if you are looking for more privacy and tranquility.
As a last option, mention the Virós – Vallferrera station, a station like few others, since it stands out from the rest by showing us a new concept of ski resort, being able to enjoy and see skiing and snow in a totally different way. It offers you about 28 kilometers of slopes, a restaurant and a ski school to get you started in this exciting sport.
