The two FGC Group ski resorts located in Pallars Sobirà have prepared different activities that go beyond skiing and snowboarding. They are the recreational park and the snow garden, the disc golf circuit, the snowshoe itineraries and diving under the ice. Port Ainé has created an adventure zone in the recreational park, where you can find zip lines, Tibetan bridges and a snow quad circuit.
The Espot and Port Ainé resorts offer a series of activities for the non-skiing public and for children. The resorts, aware that it is necessary to deseasonalize, have adapted these activities so that they are also available in summer. The main attraction of Port Ainé and Espot is its leisure park, whose main objective is to generate alternatives for skiers, non-skiers, young and old, to enjoy during their stay at the FGC Group resorts.
The activities that can be carried out in the two recreational parks are many and varied, first of all, there is a tubbing track located in front of the 2000 level of Ainé and Espot, an activity that consists of going down a slide inside a donut giant and that falls in love with children and adults. Another option is to go down the toboggan run, located at elevation 2000, where the whole family can enjoy downhills in maximum safety with all the specific material.
For the little ones, there is the activity of the snow garden, with the recently opened Niu del Gall Fer playroom. A place where children can have a good time playing and learning, supervised by qualified personnel while parents enjoy skiing. The snow garden facilities have an indoor play area equipped with playful-educational material and an outdoor one with psychomotor-type games and rest areas.
disc golf circuits
One of the most innovative offers of the resorts are the disc golf circuits. In Portainé there are 10 baskets and in Espot there are 6, and the circuit is done with snowshoes. Disc golf is the first signposted course in the entire Pyrenees. It is a very popular sport in the United States and is very similar to golf, but instead of having a club and a ball, you use a Frisbee and baskets.
In addition, the 16 baskets have indicative elements referring to the areas where they are located and their relationship with the
Aigüestortes park or the Alt Pirineu park. Disc golf is an activity for all ages, with a minimum of 2 players and a maximum of 8. The approximate duration is two hours.
Snowshoe Itineraries
This season different activities have been launched for non-skiers, who will be able to go out with snowshoes following different itineraries. At the Espot station, there is the Espot Esquí 2000 itinerary, a short and familiar route of 1.5 km to discover the surroundings of the station with exit to Cota 2000. There is a second route: National Park, which goes up to the Llac from Sant Maurici with a route of 4 km. In Ainé there are also two itineraries, the family one to discover the Black Pine forests of the Alto Pirineo Natural Park or the Pic de l'Orri route, a long route of 6.9 km around the Ainé station to access to the two panoramic viewpoints of the Pic de l'Orri, with a 360º view of the Pyrenees.
Another route is the night excursion in the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, a guided night walk of 2-3 hours under the light of the moon, to contemplate the brightness of the snow, the different constellations and the trail left by animals in the forest.
adventure park
In particular, at the Port Ainé resort, within the leisure park, an adventure section has been created with new areas for children, with alternative activities to skiing and dissemination of the natural space surrounding the resort. The new Port-Ainé adventure park has opened, which includes a complete multi-adventure circuit in which adventurers themselves can enjoy different activities such as the double zip line or the Tibetan bridge. Following this line of adventures in the leisure park, a snow quad circuit has been created in Portainé, an area to practice with snowmobiles and an area that Espot already had to practice mushing (sledding pulled by dogs) has also been set up. .
In Port-Ainé you can also do an igloo-building activity that is aimed at the whole family and you can also dive under the ice of Lake Jabalí, at more than 2,200 meters high. This activity, aimed at experienced divers and PADI graduates, offers experience and added value with deep dives with the attraction of doing so with atmospheric pressures very different from those found at sea level.
