El Pallars has a clearly Mediterranean-influenced climate up to 1,500 m. From this level we will find an alpine climate.
The heights, the various slopes of the abrupt relief and this particular climate, configure a vegetation with five different floors: the basal floor (from 600 m to 1,000 m), with holm oaks and oaks; the montane zone (from 100 m to 1,600 m), with oak, beech, fir and red pine; the subalpine floor (from 1,600 m to 2,200 m), with black pine; the alpine floor (from 2,200 m to 2,800 m), with pastures; and the nival floor (from 2,800 m), with little herbage and a lot of rock.
Most of the area surrounding the towns is still made up of mowing meadows , despite the clear decline in the agricultural sector.
There are some recognized forests such as the Mata de València fir forest, the Virós forest and the Bonabé forest, the Ancs and Baiasca birch forest, etc.
