The only National Park in the Catalan territory is Aigüestortes and Lago de Sant Maurici. With its more than 14,000 hectares, it is located in the central part of the Pyrenees, next to the Autonomous Community of Aragon. The characteristic beauty of the high mountain landscape and a rich cultural heritage come together in the park. Both in winter and summer, the National Park is an essential visit if you want to enjoy nature in an idyllic and highly protected environment. The Park is divided into two areas: Aigüestortes and Lake Sant Maurici. As it is a specially protected area, the circulation of private vehicles is prohibited, but both places can be easily accessed through 4×4 taxis that leave from Boí and from Espot, respectively. It is an alternative if you do not have enough time to do the route on foot, you simply do not feel like it or when the snow makes access difficult, since in about twenty minutes you reach your destination and other excursions suitable for all audiences depart from there. , from the simplest to those that require great physical preparation.
